We are pleased to announce the beginning of a Master’s program in Ancient Philology starting in September 2013 in Jerusalem. The courses will be given by the Polis Institute staff in collaboration with several American and European scholars.
The goal of our program is to provide students with the necessary tools for a profound understanding of ancient Greek and Hebrew texts. The program will therefore focus on mastering ancient languages. The Polis method, which intends to teach ancient Hebrew and Greek as living languages through total immersion, aims to reach a direct and intuitive comprehension of the written sources. Meanwhile, special attention will be paid to some auxiliary sciences of Philology (theory of translation, linguistics, textual criticism, paleography).
Our Master’s program is open to any student who has a B.A. in Humanities. You will find hereby an informative brochure as well as an estimate of living expenses in Jerusalem. The Origen scholarship, which covers tuition fees for a single academic year, will be granted to one student for the year 2013/2014.
Please feel free to get in touch with us for further information: our office remains at your disposal.
Greetings from Jerusalem,
