Este volumen reúne trabajos sobre el desarrollo de los conocimientos científicos y técnicos en Europa entre los siglos XIII y XVI, con especial atención a la Península Ibérica. Estos estudios, que se basan en gran medida en las pruebas proporcionadas por el registro escrito, prestan especial atención al contenido de los recetarios y tratados técnicos de los siglos XV y XVI. El volumen aborda cuestiones como el análisis de manuscritos y recetarios técnicos, la investigación arqueológica de las zonas de producción y el análisis arqueométrico, presentando una perspectiva holística y completa del conocimiento técnico durante la Edad Media. Destaca diferentes enfoques y perspectivas en el análisis del conocimiento técnico y tecnológico medieval, con el fin de llegar a conclusiones igualmente amplias y complementarias.
